Buttonwood

Do you know about the amazing Buttonwood shrub? It's not considered a true mangrove, but it grows alongside red, black, and white mangroves, helping to prevent soil erosion and high winds and surges. What's more, Buttonwood can spread quickly, forming a twisted thick trunk and growing up to heights of up to 30 feet in some parts of the world! And guess what? You can easily spot it by the cluster of greenish-brown cone-like fruits that it produces on its branches.

But that's not all - did you know that Buttonwood is also used to make charcoal? It's incredible how nature provides us with so many resources!
